How to Bring Your Own Phone to Boost Mobile (Step by Step)

If you already have a phone, you can keep it and just switch carriers. That way you only pay for service.

Step 1: Check compatibility

Dial *#06# to see your 15-digit IMEI number. Enter it on Boost Mobile's compatibility page.

Step 2: Make sure it is unlocked

Your current carrier must unlock the phone before you switch. Call them or check their app.

Step 3: SIM card or eSIM

The compatibility check tells you whether your phone uses a physical SIM card or an eSIM.

Step 4: Keep your number

To bring your number you need your account number and transfer PIN from your current carrier. Do not cancel your old service before you switch.

Step 5: Pick a plan and activate

Bring-your-own-phone plans start at $10/month for the first 3 months for new customers.
